Why economy beats brute force in mobile strategy
In almost every mobile strategy game I've reviewed, the players who win aren't the ones with the biggest army. They're the ones whose economy snowballed early. It's an unglamorous truth but it holds across genres, from base-builders to lane defenders.
The core idea is compounding. A resource building you place in minute one keeps paying out for the whole match. A wall you place in minute one does nothing until you're attacked. Front-loading economy feels risky because you're briefly exposed, and that risk is exactly why most players avoid it.
There's a limit, of course. You need to survive long enough for the investment to mature. I usually build the minimum defence that keeps me alive, then dump everything else into growth until the pressure forces me to react.
If you're stuck on a hard level, try replaying it with an economy-first mindset before blaming the balance. Nine times out of ten the level was fine — you were just spending on the wrong things too early.
